Difference between DISABILITY ADVOCATES & ATTORNEYS
|
There is slight difference between social security disability advocates and attorneys. Persons who hold themselves as advocates, may or may not be attorneys. An 'advocate' is any person you appoint as your representative, who is not required by Social Security to have any professional qualifications. Therefore, not all advocates can be considered as attorneys.
While the original intent of the law may be to provide equal access to justice for all, this has created confusion when you investigate who to hire for your case. It has become difficult to determine while searching for representation whether you are contacting law firms or groups of non-attorney advocates. Attorneys become licensed to practice law only after years of being educated in the law. Our attorneys at Goss & Fentress have years of experience and are professionally licensed to practice law in a variety of state courts. Let us help you. Call us at (866) 873-2338. |
